An essential part of life at Restvale is the contribution made by our volunteer community. They derive satisfaction from helping others which enhances their own personal development. Volunteering with Restvale is a rewarding opportunity to connect with people and gain valuable skills, as well as enriching the lives of those for whom you are caring and supporting. 

We have enjoyed the commitment of our volunteers over many years who have contributed so much that is positive to the lives of our residents. With generous local community support they have raised money for larger projects allowing them to be completed earlier than anticipated. For example, their dedication has resulted in:

• Pergola roofing in the main courtyard, including new outdoor furniture;
• Installation of reverse cycle air conditioning in all rooms; and
• Installation of a solar panel system

Plans for infrastructure developments at Restvale will be underpinned by funds raised by our dedicated team of volunteer helpers, and so we extend to all of them (past and present) Restvale’s abiding gratitude for their enthusiastic efforts in helping to create living spaces for our residents that are comfortable, homely, and welcoming to residents, their families and our staff.

Our volunteer roles are varied and involve a number of Lifestyle Activities and interaction with residents which help meet the individual needs.  This may include helping resident continue with past interests, assisting with walking or simply being a companion by taking the time to talk and listen.

Volunteering times are flexible and Restvale offers ongoing training and other resources to support volunteers in their roles.  Our extraordinary team not only ensure resident receive the highest quality care, but it greatly contributes to Restvale’s warm and homely environment.
